I’m usually a spray tan kind of gal as I find it hard to find a natural coloured self tan that is easy to apply and wears off the skin naturally, My number one tan is Bare By Vogue, it is by far the easiest self tan I have ever used. Bronzed top to toe in less than 5 minutes. The mousse texture glides onto your skin effortlessly with the streak free quick drying formula. I’m super fussy when it comes to what I put on my skin. I have a huge interest in cosmetic science and skins health so the first thing I always do is check out the ingredients to see what I’m about to put on my skin. The main ingredients are water, DHA and glycerin.
DHA being the active ingredient in all fake tans. It is usually derived from sugar beet or sugar cane. This is the ingredient that reacts with our skins amino acids on the outer layers producing that bronzed beauty effect.
And glycerin which works to moisturize the skin by drawing water from the air into the skin's outer layer. It also forms a protective layer that helps prevent moisture loss. This will help to prevent the tan wearing off unevenly by keeping our skin hydrated.
There is also a cocktail of other ingredient to help give that smooth, firm and plump effect such as diaminobutyroyl hydroxythreonine and a whole range of antioxidant ingredient to give us that fresh glow and protect the skin from free radicals like goji berry and fruit extracts. I wear ultra dark and leave it develop for around 5 hours before washing it off.
My top tip's for using all fake tanning products would be to make sure your skin is exfoliated before applying them and to keep your skin moisturized after washing it off to ensure it fades evenly!
